Played for a tough Band Director, Vincent Cozmono. He took us to Marching Band competitions all over the state in early 70's .I moved to Florida in junior year but still have fond memories of IVC. Lost my mouth piece 30 yrs ago, has anyone found it yet?

Band was cool then. Remember those cold Falls, marching in the parade and antifreeze to keep slide working.

Being under the instruction of Richard Sparks is one time in my life I will never forget, he pushed you to be the best you could be, he taught me to be proud of who I was and push to my max...the Florida trip was a blast and a very proud moment in my high school time.....thanks for the memories.

I am so thrilled to see the band program continuing to grow thru the years! When we made that first trip to Washington D.C. in 1978, with Mr.Sparks, I new we were going places. I am so proud to be an alumni of such a prestigious group! Now as a Band Parent, I get to experience band from a different perspective. Go Band!

The best and most exciting days of my high school years were pretty much everything I did with The Band! I will always Thank God for teachers like Rich Sparks...he kept us wanting to be better than the performance before and I appreciate him for that. Damn we were good. And from what I read the band has only become better and better. Remember, what you learn from your trials and tribulations with the band will only make you a better person for yourself! By the way Mr. Sparks...remember the incident concerning prank phone calls at the hotel. Honest to God, we didn't do it!

To have been captain when the guard received their first place trophy at ISU was great. It topped off a wonderful senior year for me. Not to mention the fun times at Band Camp. I'm proud to see the tradition continuing throughout the years.

Pride and Performance all the way!

I have many sweet memories of high school, but most of them were due to being part of the band. Even now, when I look back, I can't help but feel proud to have been part of an outstanding group of people who worked many hard hours, gave their best in all performances, and when all was said and done, were able to laugh and have fun. Mr. Sparks demanded the very best from us, and I thank him for that. I still smile at many of the memories we've shared. Thank you, Theresa

I don't even know where to start! I still believe that my times with band were totally up there with the great things in my life. I am so proud to be a former member of this organization! I am also amazed that even when so much time has passed that Mr. Dietrich still remembers me by name. In order to not totally embarrass my niece, I won't even mention that she plays the same instrument that I did! Of course, I won't tell you her name, but she is tall. Keep up the great work, you all have something to really be proud of!

What a kick to find all of these familiar names here! Band is my #1 favorite memory of my High School years! My kids are sick of hearing the stories! I still catch a competition every now and again and still get chills when IVC takes the field! I can't imagine anyone ever doubting the value of a music program in our schools today! I wish everyone could have the experiences I have had! Thanks a million for putting this page here for us! Smiles! Theresa

The best memories from high school are by far with the band. I learned many of life's answers through experiences with band - both encouraging and discouraging. I am fortunate to continue playing drums at my church - Northwoods Community in Dunlap. My wife, Kate, and I live in Peoria and I am sort of following in Dan's footsteps as a teacher. Not music but still teaching. I think my fondest memories were from band camp - sneaking out of the cabins on Thursday night, ending up with Mr. D on the 50 yard line talking with everyone who thought they were being "sly". HE KNEW!!!

Hey remember me I was the color guard captain in 1997, I went to camp and practiced all summer and then moved to Washington and couldnít finish the year out with the band. I am still sad that I never got to perform my last year of high school. I stumbled on to this website looking for information about the band for my English paper. Say hi to Matt and Kim for me.

I miss it. I used a lot of skills from marching band and applied them towards the Air Force. I played in the Drum and Bugle Corp at Sheppard AFB during my technical training. Currently I am stationed at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. I love it up here!

I will never forget the wonderful, fun times I had while I was in band. Being a part of The Marching Grey Ghosts was an awesome experience. I will never ever ever forget my years in the IVC Marching Band. The best memories of my high school life derived from being in the marching band. No matter where I go, no matter what I do, I will always remember the band. Especially band camp...fun times! It's worth it just to experience the family you grow to become in the marching band. Keep up the good work IVC." All of my greatest high school memories were marching band memories.
