First off, thanks to all
that helped in my absence over Homecoming, especially Matt
Chapman, Dr. Kinney and Aaron Mills. I had a great weekend
with my kids and so far my three favorite football teams are
all undefeated!!! We are about to enter the meat of our season.
The kids have been working hard and we have be adding the
special effects and dazzling ideas the last couple of rehearsals.
For those of you that have never been to a marching contest,
you are in for a real surprise. Our kids have done a great
job at home games this year, but contests are a whole new
experience. The Band will put on a completely new face and
an edge to their performance. You won't believe it's the same
group you saw on the blacktop the first week of school. Please
make every effort as a parent to attend these shows. Take
it from me, your kids won't be kids much longer and you will
treasure these times I know I treasure the rememberances of
my daughter Abby in Marching Grey Ghosts as does
she. . . Concert Bands will be starting up on Oct. 23 and
we will go with two groups again this fall combining Symphonic
and Concert Bands for the Holiday Concert only. Jazz Bands
will start rehearsing after school the last week of October
with Jazz I on Monday, Wednesday, and Jazz II on Tuesday and
Thursday. Pep Band will rehearse Fridays after school until
the season begins on Nov. 28. And you thought Marching band
was busy!!
Thanks for all you do. Thanks for all the help and tremendous
support you give to these kids and this program. And remember,
CHEER LOUD!!!!
